Everything Streaming In April: Netflix, Stan, Foxtel And Amazon


Monday is the start of April and that means a bunch of new content is landing at all the big streaming services. Read on to see all the content that will be added to Stan, Netflix, Foxtel and Amazon’s libraries in April 2019.

Stan

Stan keeps tweaking its lineup with a combination of popular movies, US series that don’t make it to free-to-air and local content. This month, a number of local miniseries get a run with the INXS biopic Never Tear Us Apart and the Peter Allen story Not The Boy Next Door getting a run along with a bunch of other movies and shows.

Huge in France (12/04/2019): “Huge in France”” would be an autobiographical look at Gad’s experience reinventing himself in the US. Special (12/04/2019): A gay man with mild cerebral palsy decides to rewrite his identity as an accident victim and finally go after the life he wants.

Amazon Prime Video offers some quite different content with their own productions as well as some titles you won’t find on the other services. Here’s what they have for April.

American Gods season two, new episodes released weekly: Season two of American Gods is well underway, and the battle between Old Gods and New Gods is only set to intensify. Promising plenty of thrills, American Gods season two is building towards a thrilling finale that will have major consequences for Shadow Moon and Mr Wednesday in the newly-announced season three.

Cocaine Prison, 1 April: From inside Bolivia’s craziest prison a cocaine worker, a drug mule and his little sister reveal the countries relationship with cocaine.

Other Side of Everything, 1 April: For Serbian filmmaker Mila Turajlic, a locked door in her mother’s apartment in Belgrade provides the gateway to both her remarkable family history and her country’s tumultuous political inheritance.

Beautiful Boy, 6 April: Based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years. The film stars Oscar-nominated actors Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell.

Chad Daniels: Dan Chaniels, 12 April: In his sixth stand up release, Minnesotan Chad Daniels delivers a brand new hour of comedy of his unapologetic take on parenting teenagers, how America’s gone soft as a nation, his plans for growing old and cake.

Bosch season five, 19 April: Fifteen months after bringing his mother’s killer to justice, Bosch finds himself seeking the truth on two fronts. New evidence in an old case leaves everyone wondering, did Bosch cross the line by planting evidence and imprison the wrong guy? And a murder at a Hollywood pharmacy exposes a sophisticated opioid pill mill, but Bosch’s search for the killers takes him down a dark and perilous path.

The Upside, 19 April: A comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy man with quadriplegia and an unemployed man with a criminal record who’s hired to help him. The film stars multiple Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart and Aussie sweetheart Nicole Kidman.

Suspiria, 26 April: A darkness swirls at the centre of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up. The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Tilda Swinton, and Dakota Johnson.
