Flipboard Updates With New Features

iOS: The personalised social magazine Flipboard has been updated with new audio features. Instead of primarily dealing out news in text based on your social networks, the new version also connects to a number of radio stations, podcasts and SoundCloud.

You can access the new audio category by tapping the red ribbon and selecting the audio category. Here you’ll find picks from Flipboard as well as anything shared on your connected social networks. The nice thing is that you can play audio and continue browsing other sections while the audio plays. On top of partnerships with NPR and PRI, the app also features a bunch of music from SoundCloud as well as podcasts from The New Yorker, Slate and more. Additionally, if you don’t feel like reading, Flipboard also integrated Apple’s built-in VoiceOver feature so pages can be read aloud. The update is free in the iTunes App Store and available for both iPad and iPhone.
