Australia’s reputation for being the most sports-crazy nation on the planet is well earned and March is prime time for a number of sports. Cricket is coming up to the World Cup and Ashes, the NRL and AFL seasons kickoff and the F1 merry-go-round launches tomorrow in Melbourne. Here are some of the highlights and how to watch them.

Tonight, at 7:00PM EDST, Austrlaia and India face off in the fifth one day international cricket match. The series is locked at two all with Australia coming from nowhere to chase down a mammoth Indian total, breaking the national record for chasing down a big total.

Tomorrow is a big day with the F1 and Supercar seasons taking off at Melbourne’s Albert Park, and the Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos kicking off the NRL season.

Next week, on 21 March, Carlton and Richmond meet in what’s become the AFL’s traditional season opener with over 80,000 fans expected to head to the MCG while the rest of us can watch from the comfort of our lounge rooms or on just about any mobile device or computer.

And that weekend, on 24 March, the Super Rugby season gets underway with the Red and Brumbies fighting it out for early season supremacy.
