Exercise Like A Convict For An Equipment-Free Workout

Exercise Like A Convict For An Equipment-Free Workout

Yesterday we detailed how you can get a complete workout with nothing but your own body, but as reader iforwms points out that’s something convicts — yes, our incarcerated pals — have been doing for several years. Here’s a look at how they stay fit so they can, uh, let’s say protect themselves in prison.

As you can see in the sample video above, there are plenty of simple exercises you can do with a chair, the wall, or just yourself. The entire Convict Conditioning channel (based on this book) has several more demo videos like that one to show you many other easy exercises. Notably, there are video series to take you through pushups and squats (which, as we mentioned, are great comprehensive exercises). So if you’re looking for a few more options to get yourself in shape without the trouble of going to a gym, maybe it’s time to start exercising like a convict.

  • I’ve been using Tacfit (http://www.tacfitcommando.com/) for the past 9 months, best workout system I’ve used and by far the cheapest.

I have spent years in the gym doing different training techniques and programs but nothing has made me ever feel fitter or stronger than this. Might seem a bit corny initially and I have no idea if any actual commando’s do anything like this, but it’s worked wonders for me (and I’m by no means any sort of military person)
