Making Big Macs at home just got a whole lot easier with the launch of bottled Special Sauce. For a limited time, McDonald’s is selling its famously tangy condiment in 500ml plastic squeeze bottles for $4.95. However, it’s only being offered at select outlets for one day only. Here’s where you can snap it up.
The 500ml bottles will be available from 40 Macca’s restaurants on Saturday, 23 January. This marks the first time anywhere in the world that Bic Mac sauce has been offered in take-home bottles. (It was previously available in single-serve tubs for a single month in 2014.)
To add to the hype and frenzy, McDonald’s has only made 4000 bottles in total. If you’re keen to snap one up, you’ll probably need to get to your closest participating outlet in the morning. (Try a Sausage & Egg McMuffin with Big Mac sauce while you’re at it.)
The participating outlets are as follows:

- Railway Square
- Cremorne
- Penrith North

McDonald’s confirmed to Lifehacker that it’s implimenting a “one bottle per customer, per day” policy. In other words, we don’t have to worry about arseholes clearing out an entire store and flogging them on eBay at inflated prices. Hurrah! (Actually, the sauce requires instant refrigeration, so that probably wouldn’t work anyway.)
If you miss out tomorrow, you can drown your sorrows with some DIY Big Mac sauce. Here is our recipe.

We got to the Newmarket store in Brisbane at about 9:30am only to be told they’d sold out ‘hours ago’, despite there being posters up all over the place advertising it. Sad :(.
