iOS: If you’ve ever taken a snapshot and wanted to pair it with the perfect song to fit the moment, Snippit is a new app that will let you do just that and then share the combination with your friends. It gives you a fun way to communicate the moment with others and discover new music at the same time.
Snippit is its own social network, which is kind of a bummer — it would be nice if it tied in to an existing service that you already use (although you can share your snips on Twitter and Facebook). Even so, the app lets you take a snapshot and then select a song from your iTunes library to pair it with. You won’t pair it with the whole track — Snippit lets you choose part of the song you think is perfect for the moment — maybe it’s the chorus or a specific lyric or verse that really means something to you. Whatever it is, you can pair it with the photo, so when other Snippit users see it, they can play that part of the song while looking at your photo.
Also, just as you can share your moments with others, you can browse other people’s shares too, find new tunes you might like, sort by song genre or just view what’s popular or trending. You can even search for specific songs to see what types of photos people have paired with your favourite artists. Hit the link below to give the app a try.
