Foxtel Site Offers Previews, Promises Video On Demand Later

As rumoured, Foxtel will eventually be offering online access to some of its programming — but for now, it’s just enhanced its site with a bunch of video previews and the ability for customers to manage their accounts online.

That’s rather less exciting that actual access for subscribers: previews feel like a given in the YouTube era (even if they are widescreen), and account management online should have been there years ago (especially given the typical wait time when you phone Foxtel). Logged-in users can schedule recordings (if they have an iQ2) and see recommended programming.

As for the future, Foxtel’s press release offers a non-specific promise:

foxtel.com.au is also an exciting next step toward providing subscribers with a fully integrated online entertainment service where they can access their favourite FOXTEL channels and shows from the PC.
