If you’re after an upgrade for your older iPhone and don’t have to have the latest and greatest, Optus is offering the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X on its “$69 promo plan” with 100GB of data. Here’s are the details.

The savings over the newest iPhones are significant and, from a functional point of view, there’s not a lot the older handsets can’t do compared to the latest models.

With handset repayments, the monthly prices are as follows:

  • $79 per month for a 64GB iPhone 8 + 100GB
  • $89 per month for a 64GB iPhone 8 Plus + 100GB
  • $99 per month for a 64GB iPhone X + 100GB

These are all for a two-year contract.

If you were shopping for a 64GB iPhone, the new iPhone XS on Optus with 20GB is $102 per month. So the deals are pretty decent and save you over $20 per month although the plans don’t include international talk or text.

The promotion runs until 19 December 2018.

  • You should look at your current usage if you’re switching to optus as you might not really need 100gb as you get Netflix and Spotify plus lots of other music/video services data free. I struggle to use 15gb of chargeable data with them!
