Ratehacker: July’s Best Credit Card, Savings Account And Home Loan Deals

In our monthly Ratehacker round-up, Jeremy Cabral from comparison site finder.com.au highlights the latest credit card deals, plus the best savings accounts and home loans. This month’s deals include Amazon cashback, bonus Qantas points and $75 for opening a new bank account.

Credit Cards

Feature: Amazon cashback

NAB Low Fee Platinum Card: 10% cashback on amazon.com.au purchases for 12 months This card offers 10% off Amazon purchases each month, capped at $25 per month, which is a potential saving of $300 over the year. That more than offsets the $90 annual fee. Interest rate on purchases is 19.74% per annum. To get this offer, you’ll need to apply through finder.com.au before 31 August 2018.

Feature: 0% balance transfer

Westpac Low Rate Credit Card 0% per annum on balance transfers for 24 months: You can transfer up to $25,000 onto this card and then have 24 months to pay off that balance interest-free if you’re approved. There’s a one-time balance transfer fee of 1%, and the revert rate is 19.49% per annum. The annual fee for the card is normally $59, but is waived for the first year.

Feature: Bonus Qantas Points

American Express Westpac Altitude Platinum Bundle: This dual card bundle can earn you up to 90,000 Qantas Points if you meet the spend criteria. To hit that top total, you’ll need to spend $3,000 on the Visa within 90 days of approval (which earns 75,000 points) and $3,000 on the Amex within 90 days of approval (which earns 15,000 points). The standard annual fee of $199 for both cards is reduced in the first year, where you’ll only pay $50 as a Qantas Rewards fee. This offer is only available to applications through finder.com.au before 31 July 2018.

Home Loans

Feature: Variable rate home loan

Tic:Toc Live in Loan Variable Rate: Comparison rate of 3.53% per annum The comparison rate on this loan continues to be one of the lowest on the market. To qualify, you’ll need to have at least a 20% deposit saved. It’s only available for properties in capital cities and major regional centres. It features redraws, flexible repayment schedules and has an optional offset account.

Feature: Investor home loan bonus cash

UBank UHomeLoan (Variable Rate) : $1,000 cash in a USaver account for loans of $200,000 or more If you’re approved for a new investor loan or investor refinance, you’ll score $1,000 cash in a USaver account. The loan features a 3.99% per annum comparison rate. To score the bonus, you have to apply by 6 August 2018 and settle by 28 September 2018.

Transaction Accounts

Feature: Account opening bonus

ING Orange Everyday Account: $75 bonus for new accounts This account has no monthly fees and free access to ATMs. To qualify for the $75, you need to open an account, have your salary of at least $1,000 a month paid into the account before 30 September 2018, and make 5 card purchases from your account in the same period.

Personal Loans

Feature: Low rate car loan

Beyond Bank Low Rate Car Loan: 5.69% per annum comparison rate This rate for a car loan is one of the lowest on the market right now. It offers loans from $25,000 and terms from 1 to 7 years.
