Headspace’s Paid Version Just Got A Lot Nicer

Headspace’s Paid Version Just Got A Lot Nicer

Android/iOS: If you’ve ever been a paying Headspace customer, you know the tyranny of the Packs. A pack is a course of meditations, each building on the next. But if you were working through the Anxiety pack, and wanted to check out Creativity one, you’d lose all your progress. Until today.

Now you can work on more than one pack, so if you’re the kind of person with bookmarks in 10 different books, you can bring that attitude to your meditation practice. (Or not. The new feature is yours to use thoughtfully.)

The update to Headspace also includes adjustable lengths for the meditations — some go up to 10 minutes, some up to 60 — and there are more singles and packs to choose from. It’s still pricey for a meditation app, though: You get 10 basic sessions for free (and can replay them as often as you like), but all the fun stuff comes with a subscription that costs $US12.95 ($17) per month or $US96 ($127) per year. If you enjoy meditation and do it a lot, a Headspace subscription might be worthwhile.
