Taste Test: New Original Pringles

Taste Test: New Original Pringles

As you’ve probably heard by now, Pringles has changed the shape and recipe of its popular potato chips and the internet is not happy. The “new and improved” version are smaller and fattier than before. Most controversially of all, you can no longer fit your hand inside the narrower tin. But how do they taste? We compare the new to the old.

We’ll be posting an in-depth Taste Test next week, but to whet your appetites, here’s the Facebook Live video of our first impressions:

So not much of an improvement, then. Are they are bad as Arnott’s infamous new Shapes biscuits? Check back next week to find out!

  • This is the funniest thing – just the first frame of Alex holding both pringles cans in deep concentration. Chris’ nonchalant “I don’t mind the new ones I think they’re okay”. Beautiful. Pringles are Very Serious Business.

  • you can no longer fit your hand inside the narrower tin.

Did the hands of an average adult Pringles eater even fit into the old tins?

      • Mine did. Double jointed thumbs. It’s amazing where it can go :p
But yeah can’t on the new ones they’re tiny.

  • I picked up some last week. After taking a bite out of the first one I had to check I hadn’t picked up a Home Brand copy by mistake. I was surprised to find out that I hadn’t. The texture, flavour and size are all just wrong. Unfortunately the new version don’t do the brand justice and aren’t really Pringles anymore.
