Silencer Hides Annoying Spoilers On Social Networks

Chrome: Nobody likes spoilers, but unless you take a break from Twitter and Facebook entirely, you’re bound to accidentally come across the ending of the newest Game of Thrones episode or thoughts on the new Arrested Development series. Silencer is an extension that blocks those spoilers with a click.

Silencer works in a couple of different ways. It allows you to create keyword blocks that hide content from your Twitter and Facebook streams. So, if you’re sick of seeing updates about Apple, you can simply make add “Apple” to the dictionary, and it will hide any posts about Apple.

Silencer also has packs you can install that block everything about popular shows. For example, the Game of Thrones block adds 44 different keywords to keep any spoilers our of your social media stream. Silencer only works on a handful of social networks, but it’s pretty easy to block out everything else.
