Avoid Today’s Game Of Thrones Spoilers With This Chrome Extension

If you’re a Game of Thrones fan and can’t watch the final episode today, the struggle to avoid spoilers will be inevitably quite hard come all week.

Your best bet when it comes to avoiding spoilers to probably avoid the internet and all human contact until you’re able to watch. If that’s not an option because of jobs and stuff, then GameofSpoils might offer you a small amount of safety.

The Chrome extension is a plug-in that blocks Game of Thrones spoilers on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Google News feeds. When it detects anything it thinks might be a spoiler, it will black out those posts, saving you from seeing them.

It’s searching for “Game of Thrones” in posts as well as the names of characters, so it stands a good chance of catching even the smallest of mentions. That said, it’s also likely to block your friend Sansa’s posts as well, so you might get a few false positives.

If you see something and do decide you’d like to see it, clicking on the blacked out are will cause the post to be gradually unveiled. It takes 3 seconds for the full unveil, so you’ll still have a chance to change your mind (or to back out if that click was accidental).

Your best move, of course, is to avoid all those sites in the first place, but if you aren’t able to then the extension can offer a decent safety net to keep you spoiler-free.
