99 Designs Launches Australian Presence

Crowdsourced design site 99Designs has launched an official Australian presence. For local users, that means charging in Australian dollars, plus an Australian support number during weekday business hours.

99Designs was founded in Australia, but until now has operated solely off a .com domain name and with US dollar charging. It uses a contest model to let rival designers pitch for design projects, a concept that was borrowed more recently by Freelancer.com for its design category. Fees paid by local businesses to use the service also include GST, handy if you’re a local business looking for offsets.
