The Kogan Series 7 AF700019 is a 40-inch Full HD smart TV with inbuilt access to Netflix and Youtube straight from the remote. For a limited time, Kogan has slashed the price to just $299 – a saving of 25%. Here are the details.
The Series 7 AF7000 isn’t going to win any prizes for picture quality – it has a contrast ratio of 4000:1, a refresh rate of 60Hz, a brightness of 220 cd/m2 and an 8ms response time, none of which are particularly great.
However, if you’re looking for a unit for the kids’ bedroom, it’s hard to ignore that asking price. (Chances are your kids wont be able to tell the difference anyway – unless they’re hardcore gamers, in which case they probably shouldn’t have a TV in their bedroom anyway.)
It comes with inbuilt Wi-Fi, three HDMI ports and access to streaming apps including Youtube, Netflix and Freeview Plus (ABC iview, SBS On Demand, 7Plus, 9Now, and tenplay).
This is all stuff that would have cost you an arm and a leg a few years ago. It also boasts PVR functionality when coupled with an external USB stick or hard drive, allowing you to record live TV.
