Puff Pastry Waffles Are The Easiest, Most Indulgent Breakfast Ever

Puff Pastry Waffles Are The Easiest, Most Indulgent Breakfast Ever

Stuffed waffles, oozing with nutella, fruit, or mascarpone cheese, make a decadent choice for a weekend brunch. Substitute puff pastry in for traditional waffle batter and they can be both decadent and lazy.

Since puff pastry comes out of the freezer ready to go, all you have to worry about is fillings. For a make-it-yourself waffle bar (perfect for kid’s sleepovers and grown-up brunches alike) simply lay out sheets of pastry, along with bowls of delicious toppings. Be sure to include savoury along with sweet; banana and nutella is a winning combination, but brie with apricot jam or even a simple ham and cheese waffle would start the day off right.

Once you’ve cut the pastry to fit your iron and filled it with your ingredients of choice, clamp it down and let it cook for five minutes. Open it up and be rewarded with a flaky, tender pastry waffle (aka “puffle”) filled with whatever your dreams are made of.
