We’ve seen a range of prices for fibre NBN services and a handful for satellite, but wireless NBN plans have been less common. Internode will apparently begin selling wireless NBN plans from today, while its parent company iiNet will offer them in select locations next month.
iiNet hasn’t put the full range of plans on its site, but its press release says:
The iiNet NBN Wireless Broadband will provide speeds up to 12/1 Mbps with prices starting from $49.95 per month for 20GB peak and 20GB off-peak data.
That’s the same price as it charges for the equivalent fibre plan. Internode’s pricing hasn’t hit its site yet either; we’ll update this post as more concrete details emerge.
Wireless services are being used in areas where fibre connections are impractical for cost reasons (you can find out what your area is going to get if it’s on the current rollout plan on the interactive NBN map).
Update: Internode has now put up its plans, for Armidale only at the moment, at this link. Prices range from $49.95 for 30GB of data a month — less data than iiNet overall, but with no peak/off-peak restrictions — to $139.95 for 1,000GB.
