There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to losing weight. The best diet program for you will depend on a combination of factors: whether you enjoy cooking, how much you’re willing to spend, etc. Here are some tips for sorting it all out.Photo by Urban Woodswalker
Consumer Reports recently measured the leading diet programs on the market, including Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and Slim Fast. Although these three programs took the top spots overall based on an aggregation of factors, the perfect plan for you will depend on your unique food preferences and habits. As Forbes reports, for example, the Jenny Craig program may be great for those who don’t like to cook or measure servings. Others who want more control or don’t want to have to buy the program’s food may be better off looking elsewhere.
For each of several factors, the Forbes article suggests some programs that are better than others. If convenience is key for you, consider Nutrisystem or Weight Watchers — both offer simple and convenient tools. If you’re dieting on a budget, the DIY eDiets tool might be the best way to go (and it boasts a very supportive online community).
Besides comparing different diet programs, Forbes also offers a slideshow of the most nutritious diet plans. Check out the link below for help finding the best diet program. (Bear in mind that while the basic details will be the same in Australia, costs for globally-marketed plans will certainly be different.)
