Kogan Just Broke Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Launch Date [Updated]

The Samsung Galaxy S10 officially goes on sale March 8. However, some customers in Australia will be receiving their pre-orders this week – a full seven days before it’s available in the shops. If you want to get your S10 early, here’s what you need to do.

Kogan has revealed it’s sending out Samsung Galaxy S10 pre-orders to customers now, making them the
first people to receive the device in this country. Presumably, the same applies to anyone who purchased the device on Dick Smith, which Kogan owns.

Update: Kogan has confirmed to Lifehacker that Dick Smith customers will also be receiving their devices early.

By contrast, Amazon Australia has only promised “launch day” delivery in Melbourne and Sydney, while Telstra hasn’t revealed when customers will receive theirs. (Flagship phones purchased through Telstra tend to ship a few days prior to launch.)

“Kogan has been quietly working hard in the background on this, and they have the first Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones in the country,” the company said in a statement. “The phones are heading out to customers now, so Aussies are getting this new phone earlier than expected and faster than promised by some other retailers.”

Here’s the link if you want to pre-order and get the phone before the launch date. On the downside, you don’t get the free Galaxy Buds with this offer. These are wireless headphones that retail for $249 – a pretty significant compromise for getting the phone early. (You do get a free Kogan SIM card with 20GB data and unlimited calls, though.)

Alternatively, buying directly through Samsung should also result in a pre-launch delivery, if past Galaxies are anything to go by. You won’t get it this week, but it should definitely come early.
