Why was Game Of Thrones Season 7 delayed?

Production of Game Of Thrones Season 7 was postponed due to issues with the weather. In short, the filmmakers needed to wait for real snow to fall while shooting on location. (Winter is coming, remember?) This held back production significantly and forced a change in the broadcasting schedule.

How many episodes does Game Of Thrones Season 7 have?

Season seven will also be shorter at just seven episodes long (this is unrelated to the scheduling delay.) Personally, we think this will make for a stronger whole. In previous seasons, there were always one or two episodes that felt a bit slow and contributed little to the overall plot. By cutting these filler episodes out, we should have a much tighter and exciting season on our hands.

What are the plot details?

Game Of Thrones Season 7 will pick up directly after Season 6 with the dragon princess Daenerys Targaryen finally launching her conquest of Westeros. Meanwhile, Jon Snow has been crowned King Of The North which will likely put him on Queen Cersei’s shit list – although with an invading army amassing on King’s Landing’s doorstep we imagine her hands will be pretty full. But the real threat remains the mysterious, otherworldly White Walkers who will surely breach the Wall this season and attack everybody – Targaryen, Stark and Lannister alike. You can also expect Jon and Daenerys to finally meet face to face.

If you’re keen for spoilers, huge swathes of plot from Season 7 have allegedly been leaked online. HBO has refused to confirm if the leaks are genuine, but the details are very credible. You can check out all the revelations about Seasob 7 on Reddit (spoilers, obviously.)
