It’s been a while since we’ve featured an Aldi TV on Dealhacker, but this offer is definitely worth a shout-out: for 799 dollarydoos, you get an enormous 65-inch Ultra HD TV with inbuilt USB media playback and PVR recording. Here’s a look at the specifications.
The Bauhn 65″/165cm 4K Ultra HD TV is a standard entry-level 4K panel from a budget manufacturer; which is to say it’s good but not great. We’ve included the important specs below:
- Resolution: 3840 x 2160 pixels
- Refresh rate: 60Hz
- Brightness: 300 cd/m2
- Contrast ratio: 4700:1
- Response Time (GTG): 6ms
- Viewing angle (H x V): 176 X 176
- Built-in HD Tuner: Yes
- PVR Record: Yes (via USB)
- Supported video formats: AVI, MPEG, MPEG-4, TS, MKV)
- ARC: Yes
- Dimensions (with stand): 1462×305×892mm (
So that’s a 4700:1 contrast ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 300cd/m2 maximum brightness and 6 millisecond response time. Clearly, this TV isn’t going to appease hardcore videophiles — but if you’re looking to get started in 4K and don’t have tons of money to burn, you won’t find a better option at this price point. The only thing it’s missing is smart TV functionality — but that’s nothing a Chromecast dongle or modern video game console can’t remedy.
The Bauhn 65″/165cm 4K Ultra HD TV will be available to buy from Aldi this Saturday (17 September.) We recommend hitting your local store nice and early.

Pretty decent deal if you can put up with the 60Hz refresh rate.
Or the abysmal contrast ratio/max brightness…
No HDR? What’s the point of taking a non-HDR 4k now?
This TV routinely gets poo-poo’d on Ozbargain everytime it’s available.
