Make The Perfect One-Handed, Car-Friendly Road Trip Sandwich

I would never suggest you eat while driving, but Tyler Kord (author of A Super Upsetting Book About Sandwiches) has designed a sandwich the "perfect road trip sandwich" and it's equally great for eating while multi-tasking.

Such a sandwich must meet two criteria. It must be able to be held in a single hand and it must be OK to hang out at room temperature for a while. The "recipe" for such a sandwich turns out to be quite simple.

You just need a slice of cheese pizza and a couple of slices of ham, maybe some mustard and onions if you're fancy. To pack your sandwich, simply lay your fillings on top of your slice, place a paper towel under it for a neater eating experience and slide the whole thing into a resealable freezer bag until you're ready to chow down.

If you have qualms about this being considered a "sandwich" -- and I know that at least 75 per cent of you will -- maybe re-frame it in your mind as a "tasty pizza roll" or something. Whatever you call it, it's a tasty, super-portable bread-cheese-meat combination fit for consuming while on-the-go.

Stop the car. Get out of the car. Open the bonnet and remove your hot foil wrapped pizza from the engine. Enjoy.

Or you could just take a slice of ham and cheese pizza...
