Zip It Up! Is A Gaming App That Turns Your High Score Into Real Money

People’s Choice Credit Union has launched a new gaming app in which player’s attempt to catch falling money. The hook is that the week’s best scores are converted into real cash and transferred into the player’s bank accounts. So what’s the catch?

Zip It Up! is being billed by its creators as the first mobile app from an Australian financial institution that rewards players with money. The person who sets the week’s highest score will have the same amount deposited into their People’s Choice account. We’re not talking rewards points or gift vouchers here — the winnings are converted into actual dollars.

“[Zip It Up!] is a fun little game where you catch money,” People’s Choice managing director Peter Evers explained. “It’s the sort of thing you’d spend a few minutes with at the bus stop or while you’re having a coffee – and there’s an incentive to give it your best shot.”

The weekly winner will be the individual who submits the highest score overall by midnight of the Sunday of the draw week. In addition to the top prize, People’s Choice Credit Union will also give a cash prize of $100 and $50 to the players who come second and third, respectively.

The main catch is that you need to have a People’s Choice Zip account to receive your winnings. As you’d expect, the game’s scoring system also has a low ceiling in place — the maximum anyone can win is $300, which we suppose isn’t too shabby.

The promotion is slated to run between 24 March and 4 May, which means you only have a handful of shots at scoring the top prize.

Zip It Up! is available as a free download on both Android and iOS devices. For more information, head to the company’s website.
