The IKEA Wardrobe Workspace For Two

The IKEA Wardrobe Workspace For Two

IKEA hacker MarLa had a dilemma: Her small office needed to function as both a workspace for two and a wardrobe. To get the most storage space possible, as well as workspace large enough to accommodate two computers, MarLa, well, hacked some IKEA products.

Specifically:

After running up and down IKEA departments to see which type of series would fit into my plan I found the perfect solution with a PAX wardrobe with glossy white FARDAL doors combined with FAKTUM kitchen wall cabinets with glossy white ABSTRAKT doors. FARDAL and ABSTRAKT are made by different producers (I have been told) but you can hardly tell the difference in the white.

The desktop is a Numerar piece cut to size, and six silver Grundtal spotlights provide illumination. The “icing on the cake” is that walnut brown backwall. Want to create a similar custom office? Now you have a shopping list.
