Briefly: Vodafail Class Action Goes Ahead, Foxtel Go Adds Sky News

Brief news items of note for Lifehacker readers, including new developments in the long-threatened class action against Vodafone and Sky News coming to Foxtel Go.

  • Threats of a class action against Vodafone due to its poor network date all the way back to 2010, but the momentum hasn’t stopped. Law firm Piper Alderman plans to announce plans for a class action tomorrow, and Luke at Gizmodo reports that 23,000 people have already signed up. For its part, Vodafone says it hasn’t been notified.
  • After debuting on the iPhone last week and adding sports channels, Foxtel jas added Sky news and weather channels to its Foxtel Go mobile package. As ever, it only works if you already have a Foxtel subscription.
  • Crowdsourcing design site 99Designs has added a range of Pro Tools features for customers who regularly use the site. Options include the ability to set private design ‘contests’ and restrict entries to a range of trusted designers. Access to the suite costs $199 per contest, though there’s an introductory price of $99 for the first month.
