iOS 6.1 Update Suggests Imminent Jailbreak

Apple released iOS 6.1 today, which fixes some bugs in iTunes Match, adds LTE support in a number of new countries and plugs quite a few security flaws. More excitingly, the release increases the likelihood that we’ll finally see an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.

iTunes 6.1 is the update jailbreak enthusiastss have been waiting for. Usually a jailbreak isn’t released until Apple releases its first major point update. Now that it’s here, we’ll hopefully see a jailbreak option surface at some point in February.

The update is available via iTunes or through your device directly in the Settings app (General -> Software Update).
