Automatically Create Evernote Template Notebooks With AppleScript

If you’re an avid user of Evernote, chances are you use a system where your notes use a specific template. You could go about copying and pasting these to create a bunch of them, but Apple blog TUAW shows off how to use AppleScript to automatically create a notebook with formatting filled in for you.

Template notebooks are great if you do a lot of repetitive note-taking, such as writing out phone calls, meeting notes or even project to-do lists. With an AppleScript you can create templates for these notes with just a couple clicks so you don’t have to fiddle about with formatting when you’re using Evernote. You’ll find the guide to do this for yourself with the recently released Evernote 5, as well as a sample AppleScript over on TUAW. If you need some help coming up with template ideas, a few GTD templates might be a good place to start.
