Telstra Adding A Proper Whack Of Data To Its 1 Cent Text Prepaid Plan

Telstra’s 1 cent text prepaid plan has long been its main offering for text-addicted phone users. A new revision to the plan eliminates a previous limit of 100 texts per day and also adds useful data options on some higher-priced recharges.

A $20 top-up continues to offer 1 cent texts to other Telstra mobiles, but removes the 100 per day limit. $30 gets you 500MB of data and 200 bonus texts; $40 1.5GB and 800 bonus texts. For $40, you instead get unlimited texting to all Australian numbers and 3GB. All recharges last for 30 days; bonus texts get used up before 1 cent text charging applies.

If you’re a heavy texter, those are potentially appealing offers, though since you can only send 1 cent texts to other Telstra users, the $40 plan might be more useful for true text addicts.
