Fridge is a simple social networking service that lets you quickly create groups that are as private or public as you want. You can use them for planning events, sharing photos/videos, and keeping in touch with friends, without worrying about an employer or your grandmother finding something you don’t want them to see.
Fridge is primarily a web app, but you can also grab it for iPhone. Either way it takes a few seconds to create a group, invite only the people you want to invite, and start interacting. The primary application is to share your life privately with a larger — but specific — group of people. Lately I’ve been using it with a friend of mine to post things that are happening in our lives so we remember what to talk about next time we see each other. Whatever you’re doing with it, you get full control over who’s involved. Fridge will notify you of new posts if you want, either via email, SMS or push notification (if you’re using the iPhone app). If you’ve been looking for a more private alternative to Facebook without the hassle of bringing people over to entirely new, large social network, Fridge can help you out.
