In recent years, the world’s leading fast food franchises have been making a concerted effort to provide healthier eating options to customers. With salad bowls, grilled chicken and low-carb wraps on the menu, the takeaway chains of today look quite different to their ’80s predecessors…And yet, there are still plenty of worryingly fat-filled meals on the menu. We trawled through the nutritional info on KFC’s, Hungry Jack’s and McDonald’s websites to bring you the five worst offenders. (If you’re watching your weight, these meals are definitely best avoided!)
[Note: We purposely limited our search to meals intended for a single person. Pizza chains, family dinner boxes and KFC buckets have therefore been excluded.]

Damn……this story made me so hungry. Thanks for making me fat LH. Maybe I should say ….fatter.
I actually decided on Hungry Jack’s for lunch while writing it!
Ask your local place to make you an Ultimate Double Angry Whopper. You will not be disappointed.
This article is just going to make everyone crave at least one of the above meals.
You guys should have used Takeaway Truth images.
In 3 of the 5 cases, the text has a different kJ count to the headline.
The headline versions were all correct. Bottom is fixed now.
So a Hungry Jacks ultimate double whopper meal pretty much fulfills your daily energy intake. Nice!
I’m off to eat potato cakes (scallops) and dim sims for lunch. Yum.

If you get the Zinger Stacked Box, upsize it to a large meal, and select Sunkist as your drink, those numbers jump to 8380kJ, 86.9g of protein, 82g of fat, 231.1g of carbohydrates, 92.5g of sugars and 3785mg of sodium.
Maybe if we could have the associated costs mentioned as well, we could identify the cheapest heart-blocker your $$ can buy!
Burger me. Just burger me.
But I never get chips or drink. They suck anyway and just add useless calories.
I’m all about the burgers.
But KFC chips are some of the best fast food chips bar none! Can’t knock back KFC chips, not matter how soggy!
hahaha. I have a few of the wifes and dip them in the gravy. Have you ever tried dipping the chicken in the gravy? OMG! But I’ve been a PT for so long, I’ll still enjoy my food, but certain things like soft drink and chips I just say no to.
Not judging though. Enjoy all the chips! 😀
I don’t know, KFC chips can be pretty good, but if done right Red Rooster chips with their herb mayo/summer sauce to dip in are fantastic. If I could buy a box of that stuff I would in a heartbeat!
The only thing that I have ever missed since becoming a vegetarian is KFC chicken. And now you’re making me rethink my choices.
Challenge completed on multiple occasions last few months. I still lost a few kg in the process though. I don’t know what you are on about.

What, a large Pizza is NOT a meal for one? I’ll need to remind my kids.
Dinner boxes excluded as well?
I have successfully completed all 3 of the Maccas Dinner Boxes and the KFC Dinner Box (in seperate sittings of course).
Not saying I would ever do it again, though I have shared some of those boxes with my partner (with maccas burger sizes we typically get nuggets or a cheeseburger as an extra)
Why weren’t the KFC meals upsized, when the Maccas and Hungrys meals were the biggerest?
I’ve already had lunch, but I’m damned if I don’t want one of those Zinger Stacked burgers now…
5 meals. 5 days in a working week….
Okay thats this weeks menu sorted, Thank you
Most of those burgers have more KJ than a pizza from Dominos! Kinda scary.
KFC Zinger Stacker box… best.
