Instagram Updates To Version 2.0, Adds Live Filters

Popular social photography application Instragram has updated to version 2.0, bringing some compelling new features. Most notably is the ability to see filters live, while you’re taking the photo, so you know exactly how it is going to look when you press the (virtual) shutter.

Live filters not only mean you can see the frames and colour effects live, as you take the photo, but that you can even preview and adjust tilt shift live as well. This is very compelling from a composition standpoint, as the live effects may affect the way you create your image. Better yet, they’re non-destructive, meaning you can change to a different preset look after you’ve captured your photo.

Additionally, version 2.0 is faster, comes with four new filters, provides the ability to save high-resolution filtered photos to your camera roll, and lets you turn the borders on your photos on and off. This is a very compelling update to the already great and already free social photography application.
