Turn A Shoe Organiser Into The Ultimate Outdoor Kitchen Organiser

Those over-the-door shoe caddies are useful for a lot of things that aren’t storing shoes, like a vertical herb garden or cable management, or just holding cleaning supplies, but here’s a reason you may want to roll one up and take it camping with you: hang it from a tree, and you have a portable organiser for anything you need to keep off the ground: utensils, kitchen equipment, food and more.

You’ll probably want one of the plastic ones (as opposed to the fabric or cloth ones) for this use, since it’s more durable and at least a little waterproof, but when you get to your campsite, all you need to do is hang it from a nearby tree, or any other spike you may have brought with you to keep it off the ground. Then fill it up with whatever you need it to hold. Margie Barnett, who snapped this pic, loaded this one up with cooking and eating utensils, cloth and other cleaning rags, ingredients for the camp kitchen, paper towels for cleanup, resealable bags, candles and fire-starting gear, and more.

What do you think? Ready to pack one up the next time you go camping, or do you have a different way to keep your camp kitchen tidy and organised? Let us know in the comments below.
