Avoid A Weekend Of Boredom

We’re always excited when the weekend rolls around and we finally get a break. Then we wake up on Saturday, watch some television and realise we have absolutely nothing to do. Rather than sit on your butt all weekend, here are a few ways to make things more interesting.

Find Some Fun

The weekends were designed for fun. At least, they were for those of us with 9-to-5-ish weekday jobs. If you don’t feel like doing the standard activities, such as going to dinner and a movie, watching television or sleeping all day long, there are plenty of resources on the internet to help you find something new and exciting.

In the event you would really like to spend some quality time in front of a screen, however, there are plenty of things you can do to make it better. First, you can always turn your computer or smartphone into a retro game arcade. There are plenty of game hacks and DIY projects to tackle so you won’t have any trouble finding something fun to do. If you’re a TV and movies type, the weekend provides just the right amount of time to upgrade your media centre situation. We like turning a computer or NAS into a TV and movie downloader.

Be Productive

While it’s good to unwind on the weekend, that doesn’t mean you can’t get a few things done. As Weekendhacker has always focused on having a productive weekend we’ve offered up lots of options in the past. For example, you can get some cleaning done, upgrade your security, supercharge your smartphone, learn a new skill, establish a professional web presence, repurpose your old technology, upgrade your home office and much more. Additionally, the weekend is a good time to solve some problems whether they are work or life-related. So, you know, get to it!

Turn Boredom Into Relaxation

Boredom is just what happens when you have nothing to do and you let that actually bother you. If you don’t care, you can pretty much label your boredom as relaxation. Aside from just having a new mindset there are, actually, a few ways to help yourself relax on the weekend.

You might want to start by putting the technology away as you probably get enough of it during the week. Once you do, you can think about activities (or lack thereof). Getting the obvious options out of the way, we’ve got guide to help you learn to meditate and practice yoga. If you’re having trouble sleeping, the weekend is always a good time to reboot your sleep cycle. If you can’t find anything appealing, don’t feel bad about doing nothing. Sometimes all you need to do is convince yourself that you’re not bored but just need a nice, two-day break.
