All The Netflix Shows Getting Cancelled In 2018-2019

Netflix has an axe to grind. Over the next few months, the streaming giant will be cancelling a stack of Netflix Originals, including tent-pole releases like Marvel’s Luke Cage, House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black. We have the full list of casualties. Brace yourself – there’s a high chance one of your favourites might be on the list.

As a paid subscription service, Netflix is not reliant on ratings or ad revenue to survive. This means it can afford to give underperforming shows some leeway to find an audience – a luxury that free-to-air TV can’t afford.

Nevertheless, Netflix still axes its original programming on a regular basis. Sometimes a series reaches its natural conclusion. Other times money needs to be reallocated elsewhere. And occasionally, a show fails to resonate with subscribers, even after all that extra leeway.

Below are all the Netflix shows that have been sent to the chopping block in 2018-2019 (along with a handful of third-party series that Netflix picked up the license for). Some will be returning for one final season while others are already dead and buried. The good news is that most of these shows will be archived on the service indefinitely for future viewing – there just wont be any new episodes.
