Find Great Local Bars By Chatting With The Hotel Bartender

You're visiting a new city and you want to find a nice bar where you can grab a decent drink. Where do you go first? Close the Yelp app and hit the hotel bar, of course. Here's why.

Some hotel bars are destinations in their own right, but there's another reason to grab a drink as soon as soon as you check in. The same way you can trust a chef to tell you were the good local restaurants are, you can trust a bartender to know all about the local bars. That's why Camille Ralph Vidal, the Global Brand Ambassador for St-Germain, tells the New York Times she goes to them for suggestions.

So when you reach your hotel, check in, drop off your luggage, and shake off your jet lag by having a drink at the bar. Ask them if they know what's good nearby (especially if it's in walking distance), and find out what their favourite haunt is. Like Vidal, you might just run into them there and already have a friend to share good times with.
