Everything Coming To Netflix, Stan, Amazon And Foxtel This July

While neither Stan nor the Australian Netflix library has anything near the range of US streaming services, every month we get just a little more. Foxtel is also adding a huge number of popular titles to its on-demand streaming, and Amazon Prime is releasing its line up of original series on Prime. Read on to see all the content that will be added to their libraries during the month of July.

Netflix

Netflix is going into July with a number of original TV shows, films, comedy specials and documentaries, including the premiere of its own original anime adaptation of Castlevania. Go back to the classics with films like The Goonies and Pineapple Express coming in July, as well as an original documentary Chasing Coral, investigating the plight of coral reefs like our own endangered Great Barrier Reef.

Here are some of the highlights:

Castlevania: Season 1

The last surviving member of a disgraced clan fights to save Eastern Europe from Dracula. Inspired by the classic video game series.

The Goonies

A group of misfit children discovers a pirate-treasure map and embarks on a journey to find the riches in this beloved 1980’s classic.

Chasing Coral

An ad executive teams up with marine biologists and camera designers to capture evidence of how climate change is destroying breathtaking coral reefs.

Friends From College

As they face down their forties, a group of friends who met at Harvard experiences a range of success -- or lack thereof -- in this comedy series.

Twin Peaks:

Directed entirely by David Lynch, the 18-part limited event series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. Twin Peaks is written and executive produced by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost.

Catfish -- Season 1

From the producers of the acclaimed documentary film, Catfish, this series brings together couples who've interacted solely through their screens. Over the course of months, or even years, they've fallen in love – but what will happen when they meet in real life for the first time?

Ace Ventura 1-2:

Jim Carrey strikes comedy gold as a low-rent private eye who specializes in recovering lost animals. There will be bendy-faced hijinks and slapstick aplenty, with Carrey at the height of his comedic powers.

White Princess

Sequel to The White Queen, and based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, The White Princess charts one of the most tumultuous times in British history. It’s a tale of power, love and betrayal, and follows the tempestuous marriage between the queen of England Elizabeth of York (Jodie Comer) and King Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy).

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is finally available in Australia, and this month we're getting a couple of new Amazon Original shows to binge. Here are the new shows available in Australia in July:

The Last Tycoon:

From F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last work, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, The Last Tycoon follows Hollywood’s Golden Boy, Monroe Stahr (Matt Bomer, White Collar) as he battles father figure and boss, Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer, Frasier) for the soul of their studio. In a world darkened by the Great Depression and the growing international influence of Hitler’s Germany, The Last Tycoon illuminates the passions, violence, and towering ambition of 1930’s Hollywood.

Le Mans: Racing is Everything

The limited series explores the 24-hour car race that takes place in Le Mans, France annually. Known as “The Mount Everest of Motorsport", the nearly century old race has seen everyone from Formula 1 legends to Hollywood elite, including Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Patrick Dempsey, behind the wheel. Travelling from Kuala Lumpur to the Côte D’Azur, shot in breathtaking 4K and with unprecedented access to six of the teams competing for glory, Le Mans: Racing is Everything is the inside story of a race that pushes technology to the limit.

Taboo

Taboo follows adventurer James Delaney on his return to London from Africa in 1814 bent on claiming his late father’s shipping empire, only to find himself surrounded by a host of enemies standing in his way.

Ballers Season 3

HBO hit, Ballers, season 3, joins Foxtel On Demand and stars Dwayne Johnson as Spencer Strasmore, a former NFL superstar who trades on his name to help up-and-comers and sports veterans alike navigate the big league and all of the pitfalls that come with it.

Comments

So I can finally watch the first half of suits season 6 on Netflix. And Season 7 on Foxtel... But I guess I'll have to rent the second half of 6.

I hate how it's broken up into half seasons

Intersting to see that Stan have now upped their prices with the entry $10 a month now SD only with one stream and HD costing $12 a month.

Looking forward to the first season of friends from college.
