DIY Smartphone Tripod Adaptor Crafted From Found Materials

If you’re looking for a tripod mount for your smartphone (or very slender Flip-style camcorder) this DIY mount allows you to quickly slip your device in and out without special cases or attachments.

Instructables user Spiderham wanted a speedy tripod setup for his iPhone. He just needed the phone to be stable and stationary—he didn’t want it semi-permanently mounted to anything and he didn’t want to spend lots of time mounting and dismounting it.

Using some scrap plastic from around his house, some glue, and some tools from his workshop he made a simple but clean-looking DIY bracket he could slide the phone in and out of. It’s not a tripod adaptor intended for extreme sports but for table top shots it’s a great time saver.

Hit up the link below for step-by-step instructions and pictures of his build process.
