Whether you’re asking for a raise or looking for a new job, it’s always useful to know what the average salary for your profession is. Now global jobsite Indeed has released its new salaries tool to help you do that. It uses real data and estimates from employees, users along with job listings to give you an average salary for different positions.
According to research by Indeed, 64% of employed job hunters said money is the number one motivator when moving roles and 11 per cent said they have declined a job offer based on pay.
The Indeed Salaries pulls data from multiple sources to work out the average annual salary for different jobs. It can not only break down the result for Australia, you can use it to drill down on the average salary paid in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
For your reference, the Salaries tool said the average annual salary for an IT administrator in Australia is $73,134.
You can search and compare over 200 million salaries using the Salaries tool. Click the link here to use Indeed Salaries.

I searched for IT Manager and the salary for Sydney CBD seems way lower than all of the other salary guides I’ve seen recently.
Indeed: Average in Sydney, NSW $116,963 per year
Hays Salary Guide 2016: $140 – $180 with the median as $160
I’ve found the search results on Indeed are pretty rubbish, I guess that could skew the results.
I couldnt even find my job, not even the junior lead in roles. The whole stream just isnt there. IT related specialist.
