You might want to keep a few teabags in your first aid kit. Besides being an extraordinarily healthy drink, tea applied to the skin can also be very healing.

Redditor RhiannonMae, a nurse, says she uses a dry black tea bag to stop small wounds from bleeding. The caffeine in tea apparently shrinks the blood vessels, and all you have to do is apply a little pressure with the tea bag for a minute or two to stop even heavily bleeding wounds from continuing to bleed.
Sites around the web seem to agree with this natural remedy, although the Healing Pastures blog recommends using a cool, moistened tea bag to treat bleeding wounds, sores or ulcers, cuts and burns. This morning, one of my eyes was irritated and puffy (from blepharitis, to be exact), and applying a warm, moist tea bag to the area almost cured me instantly.
So the next time you have a cut or skin irritation, make a cup of tea.

If you put an unsterilized tea bag on an open wound because of the sayso of an annonymous stranger on Reddit and some unqualified cancer patient, you probably deserve the resulting infection.
My thoughts exactly.
You do realize that the human body has the ability to fight off infection, right?
and that the concept of sterility outside of carefully controlled environments is an illusion…
I probably wouldn’t use a tea bag on a wound (surely a band-aide or bandage would be a better idea), but a damp tea bag is so soothing on sunburn.
