Tasker’s Clean, User-Friendly UI Emerges From Beta

Android (4.0+): Android tweaking and customisation tool Tasker picked up a major update today. It now sports a Holo-themed look that will make building your own custom apps and automating the ins and outs of your device much, much easier.

We briefly discussed the new interface when it was in beta back in January, but the new UI has made its way to the official app now. There’s even a guide to help you get started creating apps and tasks, and different toggles and tweaks are easier to find.

Also, the whole thing got a Holo-esque makeover that looks great in Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. There are new pre-built actions and states designed for newer devices, and pre-made events and actions that make customisation a little easier. All the power is still there under the hood too.

There is a catch though: if you have Android 4.0 or higher (ICS or JB), you’ll get the new design with today’s update. If you’re running Gingerbread or lower, sorry, the new UI isn’t for you. If you already have Tasker, today’s update is free. If you’ve been thinking about getting it but worried it might be overwhelming, now’s a good time to try it out. Grab it at Google Play below.
