Web: There are a ton of apps that can track your progress on a habit, but most only offer personal satisfaction as a reward. RioFolio, on the other hand, lets you earn points for your own reward system.
RioFolio works like most habit trackers do. You enter some habits that you want to build and then every day that you do them, you log in and mark them off. Most trackers, however, stop here. RioFolio, on the other hand, will give you a handful of points for your habits.
You can redeem those points for “rewards” that you define. RioFolio suggests things from watching YouTube videos to shopping for new clothes. You can set different reward levels and how many points it takes to earn them. So, for example, you could set it so that you can only buy a cheeseburger after you’ve worked out 10 times.
RioFolio’s system is naturally dependent on your own self control. There’s nothing stopping you from watching YouTube all day anyway. However, if it helps you to tie your external rewards to your daily habits, instead of simply building a habit because an app told you to, RioFolio is a great alternative.
