Over the years, we DIYers accumulate leftover screws, nails, nuts, and bolts, from every project. This rolling storage caddy can hold a ton of hardware — and when it’s full you can easily build another.
Mason jars and wall storage are great ways to organise hardware but they can lock you into a certain location which can be frustrating when you need to expand or re-organise your shop.
The hardware storage caddy shown in the video is made from 1/2″ MDF (plywood works too), four casters, and wood screws. You’ll need a table saw, drill/driver, and pocket hole jig to build it.
It uses French cleats to hold the individual hardware buckets against the frame and offer a ton of flexibility. The hardware storage unit can be rolled under a workshop bench, and keeps your hardware within arms reach, but not in the way.
