It sounds easy enough, but for many of us, it takes practice. Most people live around a bunch of distractions, constant stimulation, and consumption. It can be hard to just stop and focus on the present. An app like Zenify can put you in the right direction by sending you reminders to focus throughout the day.
You sign up and adjust your settings to tell Zenify how frequently you want to be notified and during what hours it’s okay to send you those notifications. From there, the app will alert you during your set hours with reminders or meditative activities. You’ll examine a painting or listen to some music, for example. Or, it will just tell you to remember to meditate.
The interface can be a little cutesy; it tracks your “progress” by bumping you up to different levels when you complete tasks. I’m more interested in the reminders and tasks themselves than the progress, but it’s an easy enough feature to ignore.
