Flickr user Profound Grafx has a thing for docks and launchers. This desktop is a testament to that obsession, but it also keeps games, productivity tools, websites, media, and more neatly separated and organised. Here’s how it’s all set up.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- The Clean Lines wallpaper
- The Rainmeter system tweaking and monitoring tool for Windows
- The Rota HUD skin for Rainmeter to create the weather display in the top left corner
- The Rainmeter Shortcuts skin to create the quicklinks on the desktop
- The Harmo Clock skin to create the clock in the center of the desktop
- The Eleegance 2 skin for the date
- The Folder SHortcuts skin for the quick folder links on the right side of the screen
- The Rainlock tool to add the quick-lock icon to the desktop
- The Placebo Multi-Search skin for the Google search bar embedded on the desktop
- Stardock’s Objectdock Plus to create additional docks on the desktop
- Windowblinds to change the look, colour, and texture of the start menu, window boarders and taskbar
Profound Grafx offers a little more information about how it all fits together over at Flickr:
The docks tuck away unless moused-over (shown here). I also use WindowFX to hide icons unless the desktop is active. I customised the Rainmeter Shortcuts buy duplicating a shortcut folder, changing the link direction, and photoshopping the appearance of the tab. That way I have links to all my favourite sites right on my desktop.
It’s a lot of work to set up, but it looks great, is truly personal, and offers quick access to just about anything you need. If you want to know more about the setip, or have questions about how to make this work on your computer, head over to the Flickr page linked below and ask your questions — let Profound Grafx know we sent you!

Objectdock Plus and Windowblinds are not free. Combined, will set you back at least $19.98 or 30 day free trial. Will attempt this desktop without them.
Rocket Dock is free 🙂
