A recent European ruling decided that internet users can ask Google to remove outdated or incorrect information about them from search results. Forget.me makes the whole process as easy as possible.
Following the court ruling, Google created an online form that allows individuals to file data removal requests. If you find a search link you’d like Google to delete, Forget.me guides you through the entire process.
Pay a visit to the Forget.me site and click the Get Started button. Fill in the form to create a new account, and then click the Get Started button under the “I want to make a search removal request to Google” heading. Forget.me automatically performs a search for you and displays a list of results that could relate to you.
Select any of the links you feel are ripe for removal, and then use one of the boilerplate reasons. You can tweak them if you like, or you can leave them as they stand for convenience. After submitting your removal request, the Forget.me dashboard keeps you up to date with the progress of your request, and let you know when your links are removed.
Although this tool has been created off the back of a court ruling in Europe, some people have reported that it also works in non-European countries. Try it out and see if it works for you.

This is pulled from their privacy policy:
“You also have the right to object to the use of your information for the purposes of direct marketing. To exercise such rights, please send Reputation VIP a letter and a copy of a signed ID document either online using the contact form available at forget.me/contactus or by mail at the following address”
So basically they’re going to collect a lot of data about you i.e. from your email and your signed ID document and use it to for direct marketing purposes. Great.
Well spotted.
I don’t want to alarm you…
But I’m pretty sure you will find a clause similar to that in nearly every privacy policy on the internet.
