We know that Australia will get an Azure data centre at some point next year. That’s not the only expansion happening. Japan will also get a pair of data centres around the same time, and China is getting in even earlier, with trials for its two new centres beginning in June.
I suspect most Australian businesses will be more tempted by the potential NSW and Victorian locations than China, especially given the relatively thin pipelines between Australia and China. However, for businesses operating in both countries, it’s an interesting development.
