Most people use reusable containers to store leftover food, but not labelling those containers is a recipe for trouble later on. Avoid the headache of trying to work out which food is in which container with dry-erase crayons — they write on and wipe off plastic containers easily.
As long as you stash one of the crayons somewhere in the kitchen, you can drag it out, put the leftovers in the container, write the contents and the date on the lid, and then put it away. The real beauty is that the dry-erase crayons won’t smear or smudge, and they wash right off in the dishwasher or with a wet paper towel.
