Plantronics has just announced its latest set of wireless headphones: the BackBeat GO 600s. These over-ear headphones have been specifically designed for music lovers and have been set at the attractive price point of $149.95. Or you could get them from Amazon for even cheaper.

Equipped with dual EQ modes, users are able to alternate between ‘Bass Boost’ and ‘Balanced’ modes so they can cater to their personal tastes. For those unfamiliar, Balanced EQ is Plantronics ‘Signature Sound Curve’ which aims for the most accurate possible representation of source audio.

The BackBeat GO 600 also includes memory foam ear cushions on a slim and lightweight frame to make the listening experience as comfortable as possible.

And while it doesn’t have full noise cancellation and the 18-hour rechargable battery isn’t as good as the BackBeat Pro 2 (which is cited at around 24 hours) — you wouldn’t really expect that from a set of headphones that come in at under $150.

“Our core expertise in headphones, wireless and premium experiences make Plantronics uniquely qualified to give music lovers the best possible immersive stereo experience at an affordable price point,” said Greg Miller, director of portfolio business management at Plantronics. “Plantronics’ baseline standard in all of our products is to provide superior audio, consistent with that found in our premium products.”

Here are some of the key specs:

  • 40mm driver with bass tube design
  • 50 – 20,000 Hz frequency responses
  • 32 ohm impendance
  • 10m roaming range
  • 275g
  • 18 hours listen time/20 days standby time

Plantronic’s BackBeat GO 600 Series is available from today at Amazon and Tech2Go. The RRP is Priced at $149.99 though at the time of writing Amazon had them for $135.51.
