There’s a new flavour of Coke in town, and like most of Coca-Cola’s recent releases, it’s a no sugar version as well. Say hi to Coke Orange No Sugar!
So is it worth a try? Here’s what we think of the new flavour.
Most surprisingly, Coke Orange doesn’t taste like any of the existing orange soft drinks around. It’s no Fanta rip-off.
The new drink still retains a lot of the characteristics of regular Coke, with the orange flavour appearing as more of an aftertaste. It is quite sweet and almost syrupy, though there’s less of a sickly aftertaste than you’d expect from most sweet soft drinks.
Here’s what some of our co-workers think of the flavour:
“I tried one, and really liked it. I’m a big fan of the no-sugar fizzy drinks. I thought it had a nice balance of orange and coke flavour, but I don’t think it will knock Fanta off it’s block anytime soon.”-Daniella Brandy, Journalist at Business Insider
“Very tangy and fizzy at first, but the taste disappears quickly. Overall I’d give it a 7/10.” – Xander Addington, Research and Insights Analyst
“Not a fan. It was super sweet. The only way I can describe it is as though someone dropped an orange Starburst at the bottom of the Coke and left it there to dissolve. I don’t like the orange Starbursts – does anyone though?” – Sarah Kimmorley, Associate Editor at Business Insider
“I drink both Coke and, less frequently, Fanta, so I was curious about this as it checks my notional soda boxes. I don’t think it’ll ever be a replacement for either unfortunately – not enough kick.” – Paul Colgan, Publisher at Business Insider
What do you think? Would you try Coke Orange or are you sticking with the original?
