For one day only, Virgin Mobile is offering a whopping 17GB of data on its $50 SIM plan when you sign up for 12 months. The deal is available to new and upgrading customers with the bonus data remaining indefinitely. Not too shabby!

From 9am tomorrow (May 4), new and upgrading customer will be able to apply for Virgin Mobile’s 12-month $50 SIM plan which includes a generous monthly data allowance of 17GB. (That’s an extra 2GB per month compared to the normal plan.)

The plan comes with unlimited local calls and text, unmetered music streaming and $300 worth of international calls. Velocity members also get 1000 bonus Velocity points and 10 per cent off their plan fee each month.
